| Mr. Moose | Well maybe the next corner | 02-27-2001 |
| I don't think I can take Captian Kangaroo dropping those ping-pong balls on me one more time. What was the name of the cartoon character that wore an upside down funnel on his head? | ||
| The.White.Chevy | Re: Well maybe the next corner | 02-27-2001 |
| You mean Tom Terrfic, who as I recall, grew up into a mean old man who kicked Manfred the Wonder Dog and wouldn't pay any taxes for a new school, either | ||
| James Rine | Re: Well maybe the next corner | 02-27-2001 |
| Good for Tom Terrfic. No tax for schools. Taxes is too high up here for what we got. Poor roads, poor police, poor houses, poor schools, poor hockey rinks. POOOOOO. | ||
| Kitty | Re: Well maybe the next corner | 02-28-2001 |
| Scotty, beam me up.............! | ||
| Shark | Re: Well maybe the next corner | 02-28-2001 |
| J.R. reminds me of an old teacher I once had, I think he taught either physics or metal shop...can't remember which one, maybe it was both. He used to run a gambling operation out of his classroom during state high school tournaments. Any one else remember this character? | ||
| The.White.Chevy | Re: Well maybe the next corner | 02-28-2001 |
| You would be talking about Dale "The Greek" Sorensen | ||
| TWO-Z | Re: Well maybe the next corner | 02-28-2001 |

| Torggy | Re: Well maybe the next corner | 02-28-2001 |
| Waaaaahhhooo Rock and roll hootche coo 6.2 earthquake. All the office workers in Seattle are on the streets and the streets are littered with bricks from the facades. No damage here but it sure made the house shake. Scared the bejesus out of me. | ||
| TWO-Z | Re: Well maybe the next corner | 02-28-2001 |
| GLAD TO HEAR YOUR OK TORRGY.... | ||
| Kitty | Re: Well maybe the next corner | 02-28-2001 |
| Torggy, that may be why my e-mails to my friend over at Boeing are not being answered, eh? I guess I should quit watching 'Martha Stewart' and watch CNN! Also glad you're o.k. | ||
| Nugget | Re: Well maybe the next corner | 02-28-2001 |
| Glad to hear that you're still with us Torrgy. On the positive side, I think its good and well that we have the bejesus scared out of us now and again. It shakes off the routine we get into, and given the lack of a Wooly Mamouth at the entrance of the cave, it calls forth all that adrenalin that is supposed to help us survive in a tough world. Probably shaves a few years off, but we'd just burden our kids and bore our grandchildren anyway... | ||
| Kitty | Re: Well maybe the next corner | 02-28-2001 |
| That was well said, Nugget, and sometimes it is fun to be scared. However, I bet Torggy is glad he/she wasn't at the epicenter! | ||
| Kitty | Re: Well maybe the next corner | 02-28-2001 |
| I read that 30 people were in the space needle when the quake hit. Man, that would have been way too frightening!! | ||
| Torggy | Re: Well maybe the next corner | 02-28-2001 |
| Any place you can feel an earthquake is to close. Looks like Sea-Tac is going to be closed for awhile, they say part of the runway crumbled. The 30 people were in the elevator going up the Space Needle. They said it was like riding in a boat. Scared like on a carnival ride is Okay but wow, I bet that elevator had a funny smell in it. | ||
| TWO-Z | Re: Well maybe the next corner | 02-28-2001 |
| HA HA TORGGY. GLAD NOBODY WAS KILLED THOUGH. WHAT LINE OF WORK ARE YOU FORTH OUT IN NUGGET?????????? DO TELL... | ||
| Drifter | Re: Well maybe the next corner | 02-28-2001 |
| Yes, Torggy, I was thinking of you when I heard the news. I am also glad to hear you are okay. Nice to see Kitty is back. Nugget seems to very philisophical. I bet he was a fine student at THHS many years ago. Drifter | ||
| Skipper | Re: Well maybe the next corner | 02-28-2001 |
| Hell, face the music Torg, you had a snoot full of Pfeiffers and Iron Butterfly cranked to 11 on the 8-track, earthquake, good one Torg!!!!! | ||

| Torggy... Glad to hear you're okay. Talk about your shake, rattle and roll! | ||
| Skipper | Re: Well maybe the next corner | 03-01-2001 |
| I see the Twins took their team picture the other day, it looks like they are going back to the old TC hats, the hat that Drifter wore so faithfully as a youth up north! | ||
| Drifter | Re: Well maybe the next corner | 03-01-2001 |
| I have a "TC" hat, much better than the "M" hats they switched to in the late 80's. This year's pitching rotation looks good. Should be even better than the Goltz, Hughes, Zahn, Thormodsgard rotation from the mid 70's. Seriously, this team should be improved this year. I think I'll be at the home opener again to cheer on the home team. Drifter | ||

| SPRING IS IN THE AIR. | ||
| Captain America | Re: Well maybe the next corner | 03-01-2001 |
| I'm turned off by MLB generally. Maybe it's just the Dome that turns me off. The games are so boring there... So how many MLB stadiums have all you guys attended? I've been to the Dome, Wrigley Field, Comisky Park and Bank One Ballpark (Arizona Diamondbacks). | ||
| TWO-Z | Re: Well maybe the next corner | 03-01-2001 |
| RUB IT IN CAPTAIN AMERICA. I'VE BEEN TO THE DOME...... I THINK I NEED TO GET OUT MORE!!!!!!!! MAYBE I COULD USE SOME LESSON'S IN SPEECH NUGGET??????? | ||
| Torggy | Re: Well maybe the next corner | 03-01-2001 |
| The only stadium that I ever went to see a baseball game at they blew up last year. The King Dome. Even the new earthquake proof Mariners stadium recieved damage yesterday. Not much but nearby sidewalks had lots of loose brick on them. My favorite stadium was on a grassey field in Waldo. Jim Quist as catcher and the Cavallin twins in the outfield. | ||
| The.White.Chevy | Re: Well maybe the next corner | 03-01-2001 |
| Personally, I really liked Met Stadium for baseball. One spring, some buddies and myself took in a game and I brought along a 12-pack cleverly camouflaged under a jacket. The ushers let us in, only because they were happy to see ANYBODY come to a game in the mid-70s. So we drank beer in the upper deck all night and not a soul bothered us. As a bonus, the Twins won! | ||
| Nugget | Re: Well maybe the next corner | 03-01-2001 |
| I do hate the dome. My son enjoys baseball so I take him to several games a year, but its just too damn sterile in there. I went to a Wed morning game last year and there were less than 1000 people there. Its the rough equivalent of watching the game on TV at Sears. I would love to see an outdoor stadium built in St. Paul and would certainly go to more games. With the short summer, I just cannot see sitting in the dome on a Sat afternoon when the sky's clear and the temp is 80 degrees...by the way Two-Z, you seem to do just fine... | ||
| Drifter | Re: Well maybe the next corner | 03-01-2001 |
| Yes, the dome reeks for watching baseball. The seats down the third baseline are angled for football and you have to pretty much sit sideways and turn your neck to watch baseball. I loved to old Met. The family would make the trip to the Cities each summer, stay at the Thunderbird, and take in a couple of games. One time before a game (I was 10) I was attempting to get Gaylord Perry's autograph. The gate was open near the Twins dugout, so I actually walked right out onto the field by the on-deck circle. Nobody stopped me. Gaylord (the famous spitballer) scribbled his autograph on my program. I said, "Thanks Mister Perry.." and walked back up to my seat with a grin on my face the size of Denny Green's waistline. Those were the days... Drifter | ||
| Nugget | Re: Well maybe the next corner | 03-01-2001 |
| Drifter...you paint a great picture...thanks for the laugh...I really needed that one... | ||
| Captain America | Re: Well maybe the next corner | 03-01-2001 |
| I still enjoy Minor League Baseball because you still get the similar atmosphere. When I lived in Tucson, we had the unique pleasure one night of dressing up in the "Sumo" outfits in-between innings on $1 beer night! Plus, the seats were only $8 and we were 10 rows up from 3rd base. You just couldn't beat it... | ||
| Skipper | Re: Well maybe the next corner | 03-01-2001 |
| "Spring is in the air, in every sight and every sound"...now that was some writing...who sang it? | ||

| The.White.Chevy | Re: Well maybe the next corner | 03-02-2001 |
| Thank god we're on to a sane subject like tranvestite hookers. I was having a real nasty K.C. and the Sunshine Band flashback a while back after that Lou Rawls reference | ||
