Drifter amd I were talking that we would like to reopen the Big Noise. But with a few changes. First the normal stuff like sports on a big sceen but also maybe some of the local Brimson talent as strippers. What would you like to see?

VOR email icqRe: Watering holes of the future03-26-2001
Two words that do not belong in the same sentence: Brimson & Talent.

TWO-Z email icqRe: Watering holes of the future03-26-2001
HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

Captain America email icqRe: Watering holes of the future03-26-2001
Didn't the local Brimson talent perform in the "Ladies Mud Wrestling" up at Big Noise??? Bring that back!

However, the two words that don't belong in the same sentence are "Brimson" and "stripper."

Drifter email icqRe: Watering holes of the future03-26-2001
Okay, you guys are right. Perhaps there could be a Pay-Per-View simulcast from the Saratoga shown on the big screen. The mud wrestling idea has potential, too.

TWO-Z email icqRe: Watering holes of the future03-26-2001
WE ALWAYS HAVE E. JIM.

TWO-Z email icqRe: Watering holes of the future03-26-2001
WE ALWAYS HAVE E. JIM.

VOR email icqRe: Watering holes of the future03-26-2001
Every bar of the future should offer on tap "Stanko's Home Brew."

I don't know what it tastes like, but from what I have read on this board, it is a culturally significant drink to the North Shore.

Captain America email icqRe: Watering holes of the future03-26-2001
So here's the vision we have presented so far:

I'm sitting at the New Big Noise, drinking a Stanko Homebrew (Beer Fart Lager?), watching Ladies Mud Wrestling AND checking out the PPV simulcast from Club Saratoga...

I guess the only other thing we need is a casino out back and some hotel rooms!

Nugget email icqRe: Watering holes of the future03-26-2001
Is this the greatest country in the world or what? A little American ingenuity and entrepreneurial spirit, and the North Shore (or at least a small corner of it) is revitalized.

Drifter email icqRe: Watering holes of the future03-26-2001
I think we have something here… B-Loop could shuttle people back and forth from TH to The New Big Noise in his Magic School Bus. Huge vats of Stanko's Homebrew would be sitting in back. On quiet afternoons, Skipper would break out the strobe light and 70's disco music and entertain the patrons with his dancing. Captain America would have three roundtables reserved for smear tournaments. Two-Z would be in charge of serving Gin Bucks to thirsty customers. TWC will take notes and report the events of each evening. Ivan will keep the restrooms clean.

VOR email icqRe: Watering holes of the future03-26-2001
Possible snag in our plans. Can Stanko's Home Brew be produced in mass quantities?

TWO-Z email icqRe: Watering holes of the future03-26-2001
I HOPE SO. IF NOT THERE'S ALWAYS A GOOD GIN BUCK.

DRIFTER, TOO FUNNY!!!! AND I SUPPOSE YOU WILL JUST BE AN OBSERVING PATRON??? OR THE MUD WRESTLING JUDGE.

bloop email icqRe: Watering holes of the future03-26-2001
Remember the incomprable Marty O'neil on All- Star Wrestling.. Phamporo Purpo, the Vashon Brothers, Black Jack Lanza- They all used to kick the shit out of the poor old fart- They say everyone has a twin out there: Drifter appears to be our generation's answer to Marty O'Niel!! Be sure to wear dark glasses like Marty did; some of those lady mud wrestlers come equipped with a set of jumbo knockers. Try to keep your glasses on straight.

cruiser email icqRe: Watering holes of the future03-26-2001
can we get port-a-potties installed under each bar stool and booth to eliminate the annoyance of having to go. Of course, they would have to have the cherry flavored after dinner mint in each.

Drifter email icqRe: Watering holes of the future03-26-2001
No, I think we would just run stainless steel troughs around the bar like at the Metrodome. I like the cherry flavored mint thing idea, though. Very original. And, rather than being the judge for mud wrestling, I'll volunteer to run the pull tab booth back by the PPV simulcast of Club Saratoga...

cruiser email icqRe: Watering holes of the future03-26-2001
ok I'll agree to the troughs but i want hard helmets and hoses attached like a mouthpiece directly connected to the homebrew tap. That way every one will enjoy a quick cold blast of the northshore with every suck.

Denny's Chef email icqRe: Watering holes of the future03-26-2001
For those "Cat'olics " dealing with guilt after a wild nite of skin and suds I'd be happy to offer my services in the confessional. I picked up a few things from Fr. O Dourghty and after a night at Big noise Big screen and strip mall of da nort confession and cleansing of souls is needed. I'll start with Stanko... and did you reallu party at Paul Cullens that means you were next door to me.. 20 more hail marthas for you my son

Denny's Chef email icqRe: Watering holes of the future03-26-2001
I can tell we have some vets of the VFW in the house might I suggest a "cath" with a 5 gallon recover bag for you hardy drinkers. It's portable, great for the ride home, and you don't need to call Cavallin plumbing and heating to install, well maybe they do personal plumbing.. been awhile since I lived in TH

The.White.Chevy email icqRe: Watering holes of the future03-27-2001
Well, all of this sounds great. I have one suggestion:

Saunas

Lots of them

With properly clad (or unclad) assistants.

Also, Drifter, I would be happy to chroncile (so to speak) the doings at Big Nose, the Next Generation. I would also volunteer to write the ad copy, as long as the phrase "42 Triple D" can be used often.

Skipper email icqRe: Watering holes of the future03-27-2001
NO backwoods bar is complete without pickled eggs, turkey gizzards and an ample supply of Slim Jims, will their be a backdoor for those who enjoy Stank's homebrew coming back up as much as they did when it went down? B-loop, I'm surprised at you, the person on the end of those whippings was either Kenny "the Sodbuster"Jay or ScrapIron Kadasky, both fail in comparison to our own heavy handed thug! Drifter relate the story.....

Drifter email icqRe: Watering holes of the future03-27-2001
I have nothing to say other than the stainless steel troughs can also be used for those who have consumed too much HomeBrew and need to purge said beverage.

Ivan email icqRe: Watering holes of the future03-27-2001
Holy shit. Sounds like we've put together a Porky's in northern MN. I'm in, except I'm not doing the restroom cleaning gig...I hear E Jim is good with a mop and he works for 3.2 Hamms in plastic cups. Are clostomy bags allowed to be emptied in the troughs? Skip, easy on the Slim Jims...sometimes they get stuck in your throat, ya know.

Torggy email icqRe: Watering holes of the future03-27-2001
Well, I see the entertainment, beer, snacks and bathroom facilities have all been figured out. Now if this place is to become a true Mecca on #2 we need to have a souvenir stand. Of course bottles of Stanko will be available there along with those cute little moose turd earrings. What else do you think would be a good seller?

I like that “Big Noise the Next Generation” name for the place, gives that just right “alien” feel to the place.

TWC creates some good flyers for us and we staple them to poles in TH. Then send B-loop down in the magic bus with the 8-track blaring to cruise the loop picking up our customers as he goes. This thing can’t miss.

Nsrdgrnr email icqRe: Watering holes of the future03-27-2001
Back to the Womens Mud Wrestling at Loud Sound. I was there. What was that? 81 /82. All I remember was some women getting a pile driver and that stopped the show. I vaguely remember flashing red lights.

TWO-Z email icqRe: Watering holes of the future03-27-2001
DON'T FORGET KAROKEE NITE. THE WINNER GETS TO BE SLOB OF THE WEEK. THAT'S A SCAREY THOUGHT SEEINGS HOW WE'D ALL BE SLOB'S OF THE WEEK EVERY WEEK. HEY WE'D ALL BE WINNERS.

cruiser email icqRe: Watering holes of the future03-27-2001
we need the magic bus to shuttle all funseekers from Hugos to The Big Noise on an hourly basis. This way all of the people in the northern outskirts of "Two Swamps" will have a chance to enjoy a great brew and broads.Bloop can bring Erwin along and sing duets to entertain the riders, that is if Erwin can be torn from his stool at the Landing.

Drifter email icqRe: Watering holes of the future03-28-2001
I guess I don't recall the actual Mud Wrestling contest that took place at Big Noise. Does anyone remember when that joint went up in flames? I think the Sidetrack served its last pizza somewhere around the '83-84 timeframe before it burned down. It was the same year Erwin last bathed.

E. Jim email icqRe: Watering holes of the future03-28-2001
I will have to be careful at the new Big Noise to make sure my dentures don't slip off the bar and into the urinal troughs…

VOR email icqRe: Watering holes of the future03-28-2001
Update concerning "Big Noise, The Next Generation"

I have approached several lending institutions with the proposals we have listed. They are very interested in doing business with us. However, before they lend out the money they would like to sample some of Stanko's Home Brew.

Nugget email icqRe: Watering holes of the future03-28-2001
I smell a problem brewing.

Captain America email icqRe: Watering holes of the future03-28-2001
Well Nugget, what exactly is the brewing problem? The Stanko Homebrew or the Bank Loan??

As for unclad assistants in the sauna, didn't we already rule out the use of "Local Brimson Talent?"

Captain America email icqRe: Watering holes of the future03-28-2001
And Good God!! We'd need more than 3 tables in the Casino for a Smear Tournament!! At least 12!

Plus, I'd need an additional 27 tables for Cribbage Tourneys and a whole building addition for the "Bingo Hall"...

TWO-Z email icqRe: Watering holes of the future03-28-2001
DC ARE YOU CB?????

CAPTAIN I ALREADY SEE AN ADDITION TO YOUR ADDITION FOR THE BIG KNOWN BANDS THAT I'M GONNA GET. I WILL BE KNOWN AS TWO-Z THE GIN DRINKING AGENT. FIRST BAND E. JIM AND THE E-Z RIDERS.

THE PLACE WILL BE A ROCKIN MUD SMEARING CASINO STANKO BREWING MAGICAL BUS WITH PICKLED GIZZARDS.

STILL FEEL LIKE WE'RE MISSIN SOMETHING????

Cruiser email icqRe: Watering holes of the future03-28-2001
I have tasted the mentioned homebrew. It has a taste you have to aquire. If the problem is the taste, maybe the alcohol content of 7% will help explain the kick it has going down the gullet. I would drink it sitting in the back gambling, watching PPV from the Toga, listening to the band jam, getting served by only top of the line Hooter waitresses.

VOR- Centerline played at The Noise on June 1,1986, it was the last band to play there, it burned down that summer.

b-loop email icqRe: Watering holes of the future03-28-2001
Who in the hell was that bass guitar player with the vericose veins popping out of his neck? Even Fran Saari had GROVER eyes upon gazing at those blood transporting pipelines. I believe I am featured in a video that was shot that very night at the old Big Noise Inn. I just felt the need to dance like Skipper did. I compare my desire to dance like Skip did to that of today's generation wanting to play basketball like Mr. Mike Jordan! OOoohh, damn he could dance.

DOM email icqRe: Watering holes of the future03-29-2001
I never figured out how guys like Gordy Klein and Ray Kortuem could produce such beautiful daughters. This Cruiser person appears to be a likeable character. Whatever happened to Trixie? Is Happy still around? Two-Z - Chef's identity was revealed a couple of threads ago. And, no he is not CB (Clyde Birkholtz??). I like the entire Big Noise New Generation thing, but may I suggest that the big screen feature tapes of "The Man Show" when the ladies at the Toga are on break. I love that show.

Captain America email icqRe: Watering holes of the future03-29-2001
Girls on trampolines...Ah yes, The Man Show...Do you think the Juggy Dancers could be booked for first mud wrestling match at BN:TNG???

Trixie email icqRe: Watering holes of the future03-29-2001
I remember that Centerline band, didn't they have a guitar player that never got to sing?, kind of just stood there off to the side of the stage...talk about dead weight...

The.White.Chevy email icqRe: Watering holes of the future03-29-2001
Some consideration oughtto be given to bartenders. I have a couple of suggestions.

1. Lute Olson. I'm sure Lute would leave behind the glory of college basketball in a heartbeat and return to the place where he couldn't win 35 years ago. How could he pass up a chance to work in a classy place like this?

2. The Crusher and the Bruiser. One of wrestling's great tag teams from way back when. The Crusher, I believe, used to train by carrying a beer keg around. Sounds to me like he'd be perfectly qualified for this gig.

3. Heatwave Burler. It doesn't get any more macho than this.

Captain America email icqRe: Watering holes of the future03-29-2001
In a nod to tradition, could one of the Yates boys be the bouncer at the door?

Drifter email icqRe: Watering holes of the future03-29-2001
Yates and Heatwave are in. I wonder if Heatwave still sports the afro??

Drifter email icqRe: Watering holes of the future03-29-2001
By the way, Skipper has been very quiet as of late. I think he is spending his evenings watching "Three's Company" re-runs on Nick at Nite.

Kitty email icqRe: Watering holes of the future03-29-2001
Man, it's been awhile since I've visited this site, and had a lot to read to catch up. At first, I thought you guys were so funny, but now I'm beginning to think you've all gone 'over the edge' if you know what I mean! Big Noise, The Next Generation??!! If I student teach at TH, I'll be available to bar tend for you on weekends, but ONLY if you have Killarney's Red Lager (had some at a St. Patricks Day party and can't stop drinkin' it!) and forget Stanko's! I just started a batch of Irish Red Ale and it should be good when it's done- you never know, you might get some Yuppie types in your joint (but I seriously doubt it!). Actually, I think you've all got a really bad case of Spring Fever, or are really shack-happy.

Hey, Skipper, have you read " A Sailors Logbook" ? I just thought you might know some of the people mentioned in the book, like Captain Craig.

Skipper email icqRe: Watering holes of the future03-29-2001
I have been honing some moves for the Spring trip to Indian Lake, their are a couple articles in the St. Paul Pioneer Press about Lute Olsen today, they mention TH a few times and even quote Chuck Halsted and Jay Oling, kinda neat...what the hell is a sailor's log book, never read it never heard of it!...hey Kitty would you like to go to the Black Steer with me for a nice steak?

Falcon Edie email icqRe: Watering holes of the future03-29-2001
If you're going to try out "the Juggies" from The Man Show, I believe that the ladies that attend BN-TNG should be entitled to a night from the Chippendale Dancers--what do you think ladies?

E.Jim email icqRe: Watering holes of the future03-29-2001
I would be more than happy to dance for you dainty dollies!!!!!!

Torggy email icqRe: Watering holes of the future03-29-2001
The Juggys would be great and maybe we can get Adam from the Man Show to MC the Chippendale night. The place will have to have high ceiling for the jumping on trampoline contests.

I think the souvenir shop should have little key chain replicas of Skipper’s favorite dancing shoes and Skipper look alike dolls that play YMCA when you shake them. Remote controlled models of the magic bus could be great to remind everyone of their trip to the BNTNG. On the back of the bus we could have little carriers for bottles of Indian Lake Magical Waters.

Wasn’t there something way back when about E.Jim and his g-string? Will if the girls demand it we will have to bring it back.

Denny's Chef email icqRe: Watering holes of the future03-30-2001
2 zeeee I am Clyde B's altar ego.. yes altar is spell correctly. I want to know if any of these establishments will be listed on the NYSE . My investments have gone down the porclain potty and I'm looking for way to make a quick buck or two. Lute O was in TH in late 50's early 60's. Geno Goedel was also a coach with him at the time. It is great to see he hasn't forgot his roots. Do you think Denny's Chef is aka Lute?? who knows~ Hey is there still ice on the lake named Thomas??

Ornery Bastard email icqRe: Watering holes of the future03-30-2001
Lute's a pig. He hated Minnesota when he lived here and he hates it even more now. Did anyone else catch the interview with him after last week's game? Quote: "I'm happy to be going back to Minnesota, as long as I don't have to stay there." Real nice Lute. Go Duke! Go Michigan St.! Go Maryland!

Skipper email icqRe: Watering holes of the future03-30-2001
Think we can shirts made still at CZ Wilson for BGTNG?
