What happens if B-Loop can't make the return trip to town because of too much barley in the gullett? Would sleeping quarters need to be available? Can you catch a ride on a south bound pulp truck?

Drifter email icqRe: BNTNG03-30-2001
I am checking in this evening from my in-laws down in the farm country of southern Minnesota. I always kid that Minnesota should just give everything south of the Twin Cities to Iowa. Anyway, we have a big day planned tomorrow. It's my father-in-laws 70th birthday, so there's a bash for him at the local Lions Club. It shouldn't be too bad, but they don't have a bar at the Lions Club, so I will have no place to "disappear" to for awhile. Nice to see that Kitty has found her way back to this forum. Skipper, you behave... Will there be BNTNG tee-shirts big enough to fit some of these guys?? Have a good weekend, all.

Kitty email icqRe: BNTNG03-31-2001
Drifter, I feel for ya, guy, with no watering hole at the Lions Club-how WILL you survive?! Have a good time, just the same, and don't eat too much cake! Skipper, with a name like yours, I thought maybe you had read the BOOK "A Sailors Logbook"-the title is rather self-explanatory. It mentions several people from T.H., so I just thought you might have read it, that's all! You know, Skip, when you ask someone out publicly, you risk public rejection....thanks, but I think I'll pass on dinner.

Skipper email icqRe: BNTNG03-31-2001
Swing and a miss! OK, again I will ask you, Coney's and 25 cent beers at Tommy Burns'....last offer

Kitty email icqRe: BNTNG03-31-2001
You drive a hard bargain.....O.K.!!

Skipper email icqRe: BNTNG03-31-2001
you are too funny Kitty, don't be such a stranger around here!

The.White.Chevy email icqRe: BNTNG03-31-2001
Well, we've got Drifter marooned in S. Minnesota, Kitty and Skipper are making a beer/dinner date and Lute is going to the championship game, which is either good news or bad news, depending on how you feel about the old coach.

Meanwhile, at the future site of BNTNG, unconfirmed reports indicate that dangerous toxic waste has been found at the site. It's either a six-pack of Old Milwaukee, a sweaty t-shirt left behind by the Very Capable Kenny Yates or some Stanko's Brew left behind by a prior camper. Teams are now being called in from Minneapolis, who are fumigating the Dome following that miserable second half by Michigan State's guards.

Skipper email icqRe: BNTNG04-01-2001
I haven't seen a collapse like the Terps since, well, since the Cyclones went down the shoot....

The.White.Chevy email icqRe: BNTNG04-01-2001
True. At least the Cyclones had the good sense to go down the crapper late at night when relatively few people were watching. Even better, I didn't have to go halfway across the country to watch it!

Drifter email icqRe: BNTNG04-01-2001
I have returned from corn country. Spent yesterday eating cake, drinking punch (un-spiked), and talking the economy with 70-year old people. I managed to see the 2nd half of the Arizona game and all of the Duke game. No beer at the Lions Club... My liver is happy, though, as it received a rare weekend off. Although I was rooting for Maryland, I have to say that Duke was the better team, and deserved to win. I like the guy from Arizona who has the huge afro. Drifter

Torggy email icqRe: BNTNG04-01-2001
You need to pay your dues now Drifty. Just think some day your son or daughter-in-law will have to stand around talking about Disco and non-existant bars with Skipper, Ivan and B-loop. Scary thought huh?

The.White.Chevy email icqRe: BNTNG04-01-2001
Since things seem to be quiet on the fanasty bar front, let's deal with this:

How good (or bad) will the Twins be this year? And, what are the odds the stadium situation will be resolved in their favor? And, does anyone else want to see Chuck Knoblauch catch a fly ball right between the eyes (not that I'm bitter or anything, but ....)?

Remember, opening day for the boys is a matter of hours away.

Denny's Chef email icqRe: BNTNG04-01-2001
Well I have tickets to Miller Park in Milwaukee for a game in late april.. screw the Twinkies the brew crew is back and the stadium is a an awesome site~ I think Jesse V should just fork over a few bucks from his broadcast salary from the XFL that ought to float a loan for the Twins~

Captain America email icqRe: BNTNG04-02-2001
MLB right now has turned me off. It represents all that is wrong with pro sports today... The only pro sport that has revenue sharing even remotely right is the NFL. For my money, give the Gophers a new football stadium before anybody--hell, the U of M ain't gonna leave town ever!

The.White.Chevy email icqRe: BNTNG04-02-2001
I understand your frustration, Cap. MLB has done nothing to solve any of its problems and now it's talking about elminating teams, an option that is supreme idiocy, in my opinion. If they send the Twins into oblivion, I can guarantee you I would never watch another major league game again. Period.

I've also wondered how long it would take fans to understand that one of the attractions of college and high school sports are their stability. They AREN'T going anywhere. Good call there, Cap.

By the way, I've been checking the Web cams and it appears to be snowing along the North Shore. I'm shocked - snow in April? Spring must be, what - 3 months away now?

Fred email icqRe: BNTNG04-02-2001
TWC, it is snowing right now (noonish), but luckily it is warm enough that it is starting to melt. Thank goodness I'm heading for Arizona in two days, I can't wait to see green grass. Happy Spring

Drifter email icqRe: BNTNG04-02-2001
TWC - It was also snowing for awhile this morning in the Twin Cities. I bet the Arizona fans are loving this weather. Should be a decent game tonight, but I think Duke has too much for Lute's boys to handle. We shall see.

Kitty email icqRe: BNTNG04-02-2001
Joke of the Day (In honor of Darryl Strawberry who has taken a powder-and I don't mean the white stuff)

Knock knock

Who's there?

Darryl

Darryl who?

Darryl always be a place for you in my heart.

Oh, stop groaning Drifter, I can hear you from here!

Ornery Bastard email icqRe: BNTNG04-02-2001
Drifter is not the only one groaning. Hope Lute's boys get their asses kicked tonight. Coach K. is all full of himself too, but doesn't come close to dimwit Lute.

DOM email icqRe: BNTNG04-02-2001
The only part of the Saturday games I liked was when Pepsi showed that new Britney Spears commercial. Even ol' Bob Dole got excited. Doesn't he suffer from penis erection disorder or something from another commercial?

Kitty email icqRe: BNTNG04-03-2001
O.B., deep down you really liked that joke, admit it. Dom, Bob Dole has to supplement his income somehow, why not erectile dysfunction commercials. Hey, you'd probably fake dysfunction, too, if it meant big bucks for a commercial! (This Pandora's Box could be fun-Skipper, look out!)

Captain America email icqRe: BNTNG04-03-2001
1. The only thing that MLB baseball can do to save itself is CONTRACT and tell teams like Minnesota, Montreal, Florida, etc etc to give up and quit.

2. I am not all that impressed by the abilities of "Coach K" at Duke. If I had 12 McDonald's All-Americans and the refs in my back pocket every damn game, I'd win a hell of a lot more than 3 national championships.

3. Britny Spears is 12 years old DOM. You and Bob Dole are perverts...

PS--What does DOM stand for anyway??Dirty Old Man??

Drifter email icqRe: BNTNG04-03-2001
Kitty, do you tell these jokes to your students?? Do they groan too? Speaking of groaning, Bob Dole needs to drop his pen and get down to the business at hand. Captain, I can't argue your points about MLB, but there's something about the beginning of baseball season that is still fun for me. Maybe it's just knowing that summer is right around the corner.... Drifter

TWO-Z email icqRe: BNTNG04-03-2001
ARIZONA PISSED ME OFF. COULDN'T EVEN PULL IT OFF FOR OLD MRS. LUTE....

OK, HERE'S THE SKINNY. IF I WERE TO GIVE ONE CLUE ABOUT MYSELF, WHAT WOULD IT BE BESIDES MY NAME??????????

Ivan email icqRe: BNTNG04-03-2001
What happened to The Cruiser? Off in his Victoria Secrets catalogs again? How about B-Loop? Singing sweet soprano with the touring madrigals? Even Skip has been quiet. I bet he's got a chunk of deer sausage stuck in his throat again. 24 days till the Indian Lake jammer...ready your livers, boys.

Smiley email icqRe: BNTNG04-03-2001
I believe DOM is a.k.a. cruiser who is a.k.a. other names in here

E. Jim email icqRe: BNTNG04-03-2001
I thought DOM was Vince Ettestad's son. Vince looks alot like Jonathan Winters.

Drifter email icqRe: BNTNG04-03-2001
Hey, how about those Twins. They just won their opener, 3-2 over the Tigers. Undefeated and in 1st place... I know, I better enjoy it while it lasts. See you Monday at the Plaza for the home opener. I wonder if Boogie Wonderland will perform like before last year's opener?

The.White.Chevy email icqRe: BNTNG04-03-2001
Yes, I can see it now. Twins go 110-52, blow away the Yankees in the ALCS and beat the Cubs in the World Series.

Then again, I believe it's possible to work on your tan along the North Shore in April. That's where I'm headed next week to do some visiting. I expect to come back fully bronzed.

Skipper email icqRe: BNTNG04-03-2001
Hell of an outing by the Hawk! He is gonna kill us!

DOM email icqRe: BNTNG04-03-2001
DOM is not cruiser or Ettestad. Britney is of legal age now, so it is alright to lust over her. She is a goddess. Bob Dole is a putz. Where is Happy?

Trixie email icqRe: BNTNG04-03-2001
How should one condition a liver for Indian Lake? I am confused...

webman email icqRe: BNTNG04-03-2001
I like liver fried with a little flour coating. Eat it with bacon, onions, and lots of ketchup.

Torggy email icqRe: BNTNG04-03-2001
Hope you have a great visit to the northland there TWC. Good luck with the tanning. To bad you can't wait till the end of April and then you could take part in the liver killing at Indian Lake. Oh well, say hi to the lake for me.

My parents, hoping to escape the snow and cold for awhile have traveled to Vegas to visit my sister. Next week they all will be here to see the Tulip Festival in northwest Washington state. We will take in a Mariner, Texas game in the new stadium.

I am not thrilled with any of the pro sports these days. Millionairs go on strike to make millionaires pay them more while we as taxpayers build them places to play. And the worst part is whenever one of them gets a new contract the price of beer goes up. Now that is a sin.

The.White.Chevy email icqRe: BNTNG04-04-2001
Personally, Torggy, I think that if A-Rod has $252 million in his wallet, he should buy at least one case for every eligible beer-drinker in the country per month. And it wouldn't be Steinhaus either!

This Indian Lake thing sounds pretty darn sinful to me, not to mention fun. Is this a tradition that's been going on a while?

Sue email icqRe: BNTNG04-04-2001
I just went into the Two Harbors Class site. What happened? Is this site about the same?

Torggy email icqRe: BNTNG04-04-2001
Hi Sue and welcome. The class site was the in place till they required log in information. But now you have found the hip place for TH natives. You should read the back threads and catch up. Might find that you know some of us. Which can be a scary thought.

Ivan email icqRe: BNTNG04-04-2001
Sue - This site is much better. It's uncensored and we take full advantage of it...thanks Webman. It's a little thick with testosterone...lotta talk of beer, sports, beer, women, beer, Electric Jim, and beer. TWC - I will defer to Drifter your Indian Lake questions. He is the master planner...or is that masterbater, which ever...he can and will answer all your questions.

Kitty email icqRe: BNTNG04-04-2001
Drifter, I'll have you know I got that joke from some students I was subbing for! I've got a better one if you want it.

I'm glad you're thrilled about the Twins victory, however, I'm bummed the Tigers didn't win in their new stadium, which I'll be helping to pay for for years to come. Ha! Those ballplayers make so much money, they could, collectively, build 10 new stadiums. I hear ya, Torggy!

Sue, not all of us are T.H. natives. Some of us are at this site by injection only. Please stick around, there's WAY too much testosterone in here!

Drifter email icqRe: BNTNG04-04-2001
TWC: Yes, a group of us have made a twice-a-year getaway to Indian Lake a tradition. We have been doing it for about 10 years. Just a bunch of grown men with wives (most of us) and kids who leave the comforts of home for a couple of days to drink beer, eat animal fat, and tell stories of our youth. A trip to Hugo's is usually part of the weekend. A tour in B-Loop's Magic School Bus as well as a lengthy tractor ride through the woods has now become traditional as well. We used to go to Indian Lake in January or February, but one year we hit a weekend in which the air temp was 40 below, so that was the last time we visited in the winter. We have now settled on a spring trip (before bugs) and a fall trip (before cold), which has worked well the last few years. We find ourselves drinking, eating, playing music (at least attempting to), and abusing Skipper throughout the weekend. It really is a good time.... and a trip that we all look forward to for months. But I have to say, by the time Sunday rolls around, I have had enough of Skipper and Ivan and am ready to get back to the wife and kids and back to reality. P.S. We suspended Skipper from cooking duties a couple years back after he torched several brats and hot dogs. I'm sure the charred remains are still on the bottom of Indian Lake. He can do dishes pretty well, though, and yes, he can still dance like a son of a bitch....

Sue email icqRe: BNTNG04-04-2001
O.K. Kitty, I'll try it for a while. How did you come about this site? I am from Two Harbors but don't live there anymore.

Drifter, would that tractor ride be with Meister Dave himself? I use to spend alot of time on Indian Lake.

Drifter email icqRe: BNTNG04-04-2001
Sue: Yes, Dave (aka Raul) is the man in charge of tractor rides through the woods of Brimson. The price of admission is one large cooler full of Rolling Rock bottles on ice. Mmmmmm….beer!!

Captain America email icqRe: BNTNG04-04-2001
Hi Sue. You need to supply us with some supplementary information--like the year you graduated, occupation and favorite beer. That way we can come up with a couple guesses as to your true identity.

Two-Z, for instance, remains an elusive mystery. A 1981 THHS grad NOT named Franz Nizwant, Bart Wick or Tony Price, no one has a real clue to his (or her) ID. Perhaps Two-Z, you could reveal a past girlfriend from high school?

MLB baseball sucks. If you want baseball, go see the Dukes or the Gophers in action.

Go Gophers. Rah.

Sue email icqRe: BNTNG04-04-2001
Drifter, I know Raul very well. He's a close friend of mine. I hope to see him this summer when I go to the reunion. He calls me wooooz so when you see him tell him I said Hi. Maybe that should be my nick name in here as I see you all have one. I too am from the class of 1981. I read threw a few threads in here but am still a little confused as to who you people are? Some of you scare me. LOL

Skipper email icqRe: BNTNG04-04-2001
Ah back off you bastard!...how can I keep an eye on the smokin' grill when I am inside laying down a smokin' riff on the guitar....Drifter is right, those things looked like carcinoma on a bun, I would like to defer this question to Ivan, we can make a pretty mean breakfast, of course Drifter has those great Bloody's.....you know Drifter would make a good wife for someone!

Drifter email icqRe: BNTNG04-04-2001
Wooooz - We will see Raul in a few weeks. I will definitely tell him Woooz says hello. Skipper, I have not heard a smokin' riff come from your guitar. Unless, of course, someone else is playing it. Now, nobody can grill venison steaks or cheeseburgers on the tailgate of a pickup truck like B-Loop can.

DOM email icqRe: BNTNG04-05-2001
Wooooz - Tell me you look like Britney Spears....even if you don't, tell me you do anyway.

The.White.Chevy email icqRe: BNTNG04-05-2001
In the interest of all that is peace, harmony and Agate on this planet, I will do my bit to finish this fine thread.

We have a Masters pool going here, and one of my draft picks (Lee Westwood) has dropped out because his wife is having a baby. I, of course, am outraged. What's more important in life, the birth of a child or a Masters pool? It is a no-brainer.

Captain America email icqRe: BNTNG04-05-2001
If it makes you feel any better TWC, I left David Duval off my Master's pool because I thought his wrist injury was more serious than it is...Now I find out he's playing at "100%" or some shit like that...There goes my shot at the Big $$

The.White.Chevy email icqRe: BNTNG04-05-2001
Tell you what, Cap. If we both lose, we should bill Westwood and Duval. If they refuse to pay, we'll just have to send muscle after them, ala the Godfather. Got any ideas?

The.White.Chevy email icqRe: BNTNG04-05-2001
I hereby declare this thread closed, by the power invested in me by no one.

Thank you.
