| 1992 -- In June, town councilors in Hearst, Ontario, ended the long-time tradition of requiring prospective bridegrooms to be locked in cages in the center of town, on public display. The tradition usually goes no further than allowing the townspeople to throw eggs and tomatoes at the men for a price in part to help the couple get started financially but a few years ago, in an extreme case, one man was given an enema with a grease gun. Local clergy advised the councilors that some men so fear the prospect that they decline marriage altogether. | ||

| 1992 -- Tommie Lee Jackson, 39, was charged in Santa Clara County, Calif., in September with sexual assault after he decided to force a 20-year-old woman to fellate him. She defended herself with her teeth. One of Jackson's testicles is in custody in a plastic bag in the police property room. Said Detective Don Bacon, "It's just another piece of evidence." Jackson said the sex was consensual and that the woman simply couldn't take criticism. | ||

| A husband, tired of his wife asking him how she looks, buys her a full length mirror. This does little to help, as now she just stands in front of the mirror, looking at herself, asking him how she looks. One day, fresh out of the shower, she is yet again in front of the mirror, now complaining that her breasts are too small. Uncharacteristically, the husband comes up with a suggestion. "If you want your breasts to grow, then everyday take a piece of toilet paper, and rub it between your breasts for a few seconds." Willing to try anything, the wife fetches a piece of toilet paper, and stands in front of the mirror, rubbing it between her breasts. "How long will this take?" she asks. "They'll grow larger over a period of years," he replies. The wife stops. "Why do you think rubbing a piece of toilet paper between my breasts everyday will make my breasts grow over the years? she asks. The husband shrugs. "Why not, it worked for your ass, didn't it?" | ||

| One of the funniest "most-embarrassing-moment" stories I've come upon in a long time was about a lady who picked up several items at a discount store. When she finally got up to the checker, she learned that one of her items had no price tag. Imagine her embarrassment when the checker got on the intercom and boomed out for all the store to hear: "Price check on lane thirteen, Tampax, supersize." That was bad enough, but somebody at the rear of the store apparently misunderstood the word "Tampax" for "Thumbtacks." In a business-like tone, a voice boomed back over the intercom: "Do you want the kind you push in with your thumb or the kind you pound in with a hammer?" | ||

| 1980 - A minimum wage working janitor at a theater in Superior, WI reportedly discovered a feces sample which is still confusing scientists around the globe. The worker stumbled upon the large pile of waste while sweeping out a balcony which hadn't been open to the public for many years. At first scientists believed it to be feces from an ape or large chimp, but after numerous tests, controversy still exists. "We are certain it is not human waste," commented an unnamed scientist. "Although there were traces of human type foods in the feces, such as 3.2 Blatz beer and Geno's pizza rolls, we still are sure it is not waste from a human. This has led us to believe the feces was left by some sort of half ape, half man creature. A caveman type, if you will." Further analysis will be performed. | ||

| Maybe my math is wrong, but when I read the following, I thought it was truly weird: in an obit for Hilda Alatalo (God rest her Finnish soul) it said, 'In her 102 years, she saw three millenniums'. Now, someone explain to me how that can be...being blond, I am confused. | ||

| Did you ever stop to wonder what would happen if your dog's name was Mypenis? - Mypenis ate my homework. Oh, no! Mypenis is frothing at the mouth! - Sorry I'm late. I was playing with Mypenis. - I'm sorry, Officer. I didn't realize I had to keep Mypenis on a leash. -Mypenis doesn't come when I call it. -Mypenis likes to crawl between the legs of guests. - I love giving Mypenis a bath. - At night, I sleep with Mypenis in my hands. - Mypenis likes it when people pet him. - Mypenis needs to get more exercise. He weighs over fifty pounds! - Playing with Mypenis really wears me out. - Would you like to see a picture of Mypenis? - Sometimes I wake up, and Mypenis is already jumpy. - I think Mypenis has a mind of its own. - I keep a picture of Mypenis in my wallet. - Whenever I get lost, Mypenis points me in the right direction. - I think Mypenis is getting old because he won't get excited anymore. He just plays dead. - Mypenis got out last night. I think he's sleeping with the lady next door. - If Mypenis was a weinerdog, he would be long and hairy and hard to carry. - Mypenis loves to chase pussies in dark alleys. - Help! I can't find Mypenis! - Sorry to be driving so slow, officer, but I was looking for Mypenis. - Mypenis gets excited whenever the mailman comes. - Sorry to be driving so fast, officer - I have to take Mypenis to the hospital. - Oh. no! Something bit Mypenis!

| I don't know how weird this is, but a guy from work is going to be in Two Harbors tonight, and probably for the weekend. I was gonna tell him to say "Kitty says HI" to any native Two Harbor-ites, but thought better of it. Have a good weekend everyone, and lets get some action on this board, eh??!! | ||

| Here is some weird news. My eighth grade nephew just started in a new school after moving from Lubbock, TX, home of the Texas Tech Red Raiders. The common greeting around Lubbock is the gun gesture with your hand when you wave. Part of the school spirit an all that. Kind of like the tomahawk chop of the Florida Seminoles and the Atlanta Braves. Anyway . . this gesture is pure habit for him. He was suspended from school for 3 days for making "threating hand gestures" when all the kid was doing was waving "hello" to people. Go figure. | ||
| Kitty | Re: Weird News | 03-18-2000 |
| Webman, as innocent as his gesture may have seemed to him, all that has gone on in our public schools in the last few years has made everyone extremely paranoid. In our school, we have a code sentence announced over the PA, should a theatening situation arise (or walk into the building!). We are then supposed to lock the doors, with the students in the classroom. These measures have to be taken because any school could be the next Columbine. It's unfortunate a new student had to have this happen, though. It surely sent a very negative message to a child who was probably feeling anxious and unsure starting in a new school, and moving to a completely different part of the country. The more I think about it, he should have been given a warning, not a 3 day suspension. Even a 1 day in-school suspension would have sufficed. | ||
