| Wow! Things are starting to pick up in here again! Carry on. | ||
| Mike Oxebig | Re: More nonsense | 09-07-2000 |
| How are things in Two Harbors these days? Why did they turn Bacon Sales & Service into a cheesy bar? And Falk's Drug Store is no longer? The Silver Dollar Salloon is now a what??? Where is Gambles?? Nelson Brothers??? Lauralee's??? What is going on??!!! Mike Oxebig | ||
| Kitty | Re: More nonsense | 09-07-2000 |
| Skipper, happy belated birthday! Speaking of birthdays, which one of you has a birthday the same day I do, Feb. 1st? Seems to me one of you shared that special day with me. Mike, are you bragging...or b.s.ing???? | ||
| Kitty | Re: More nonsense | 09-07-2000 |
| Answer this one for me: why would the cost of shipping on an item from Vickies secret be $12 (it's a very light weight thing) and shipping for a metal wood rack from LL Bean only $6??? I think it's because one item is a womans and the other would typically be for a man. This is not fair! You guys have it so cheap, consumer-wise. | ||
| Skipper | Re: More nonsense | 09-07-2000 |
| Thanks Kitty, I am not sure why bur I would pay to see what you have there! just thinking! | ||
| Skipper | Re: More nonsense | 09-07-2000 |
| Sorry, that should be but....maybe it should be butt for Kitty.... | ||
| Drifter | Re: More nonsense | 09-08-2000 |
| Feb 1st is also my birthday. If you could forward all your old Vickies Secret catalogs to me, that would be the best b-day present I could ever receive. | ||
| Ivan | Re: More nonsense | 09-08-2000 |
| Interesting that Kitty wrote the words "Victoria's Secret" and "Wood" in the same sentence. Somehow the words seem to go together very well. | ||
| Kitty | Re: More nonsense | 09-08-2000 |
| Oh Ivan, knock it off! That was unintentional and not to be thought of as 'Freudian'!! Drifter, if you want a catalog, just log onto their web site. I think it's just victoriasecret.com. So, you're into soft porn, eh? ;-) Skipper, I didn't mean to get you so stirred up that you misspelled words. O.K., maybe I did, but isn't it fun??!! | ||
| Skipper | Re: More nonsense | 09-08-2000 |
| That's...just a minute.......................o | ||
| Skipper | Re: More nonsense | 09-08-2000 |
| I don't know what happened there,but I feel better. | ||
| Drifter | Re: More nonsense | 09-08-2000 |
| Skipper been into the liquor cabinet again? | ||
| Skipper | Re: More nonsense | 09-09-2000 |
| OH COME ON!...Kitty in next to nothing doesn't make you feel funny Drifter, I spose Ivan in boxers is your thing, huh! | ||
| Postman | Re: More nonsense | 09-09-2000 |
| Is Webby dead? | ||
| Webman | Re: More nonsense | 09-09-2000 |
| No, I'm not dead. New job, more demands on time, trying to work a little extra for some pocket $ for a trip to TH in October, etc., etc., etc., Sad story, eh? | ||
| Alfred | Re: More nonsense | 09-09-2000 |
| Three cheers for the Class of 1978!!! One observation: I believe the Undertaker has undertaken leave of what little sense he once had. I can also tell you that Ivan is Wesley Goodnight. Thank you. | ||
| Chuck Halthed | Re: More nonsense | 09-09-2000 |
| Hi my friends. I new on this machine so forgivv error. Does anyone have the address off Mark Gulan? While searching through my old things, I happened up on his game jock. | ||
| Lucy | Re: More nonsense | 09-09-2000 |
| Chuck, Could you tell it was Mark's by the shriveled up pouch? I hope he ah, "matured" because he sure was a smooth, hairless, "little" kid. | ||
| Webman | Re: More nonsense | 09-09-2000 |
| Hey, I wonder if Mike represents/resents that previous remark? | ||
| Pastor Swenson | Re: More nonsense | 09-09-2000 |
| You people are contemptible. You might stand a chance at salvation if you contribute several hundred dollars immediately to a certain Swedish minister's retirement fund. What in the world is Mr. Halsted doing in possession of one of his young charges athletic supporters? I think that Charles Halsted makes Bobby Knight look like a model of calm and restraint. I will ask Father Bob to say some Hail Mary's for all of you. | ||
| Coach Knight | Re: More nonsense | 09-09-2000 |
| I would like to meet this Halsted you speak of. He is probably a wuss. I would kick his ass, beat him with a folding chair, and have him expelled. | ||
| Gay Ray | Re: More nonsense | 09-10-2000 |
| I was the best coach ever. Best dressed, too. I still have the green plaid suit you all admired so much. | ||
| Bobby Knight | Re: More nonsense | 09-10-2000 |
| Well I got fired, but at least I never touched the privates of my players like GayRay did. | ||
| Kitty | Re: More nonsense | 09-11-2000 |
| Hey, Webman, nice photo of you standing on ice! I'd comment on the nice smile, etc., but I don't want to give Skipper, Drifter, Ivan or Postman fuel for disparaging words (you know how they can be!) ;-) | ||
| webman | Re: More nonsense | 09-11-2000 |
| Ice? Damn, I thought it was just hard water. | ||
| Charles Halthed | Re: More nonsense | 09-11-2000 |
| Only I, Chuck Halthed, can walk on water. I can tell you all that there was NO pouch on Mark Gulan's athletic thing. | ||
| Electric Jim | Re: More nonsense | 09-11-2000 |
| Hey, webby. Be careful when walking on Indian Lake not to get to close to the river. It never freezes over near the river. I know a couple of fools who went under with their snowmobile -- twice the same night. Damn shittin' kids.... See ya at Hugo's E. Jim | ||
| Alfred | Re: More nonsense | 09-12-2000 |
| Kitty: Are you beautiful? | ||
| The Bruce | Re: More nonsense | 09-13-2000 |
| Did Crusty really have herpes or was that just chronic acne? | ||
| Mike Oxebig | Re: More nonsense | 09-13-2000 |
| Think about it. Who could Crusty have possibly contracted herpes from? | ||
| Skipper | Re: More nonsense | 09-14-2000 |
| It is well known,Crusty dated Bio-Woman secretly..... | ||
| Hugh | Re: More nonsense | 09-15-2000 |
| Nasty! | ||
| A Dwarf | Re: More nonsense | 09-16-2000 |
| Many of you know that Cloquet has similar sight for poking fun at the town. Well, the local paper has started a new guestbook and it appears that some people (from the uncensored site??) are lobbying for the creation of a gay bar in town to serve the needs of such a diverse and open minded community. The paper says they will track down those who put illegal comments on the site, but there is nothing illegal about those posts. Pretty funny. Maybe you guys could start an similar campaign in the Two Harbors paper guestbook. I think the northland could really benefit by becoming a mecca for gay tourists. | ||
| Kitty | Re: More nonsense | 09-17-2000 |
| Dwarf, think about it: the north, becoming a meca for gay tourists? What are you going to do? Ask everyone who wanders into town what their sexual preference is? Are you going to put up big billboards advertising a gay bar in town? Wouldn't it be better for tourism to attract snowmobilers in the winter and boaters in the summer? What is this world coming to? Calgon, take me away!! Better yet, Bud Lite, take me away!! Somebody take me away!! | ||
| Kitty | Re: More nonsense | 09-17-2000 |
Hey, can someone tell me the name of that little Greek resturant in Duluth? Is it still there? I think it was on the main drag. Any info would be appreciated, thanks. ![]() | ||
| Skipper | Re: More nonsense | 09-17-2000 |
| Chinese Lantern,it burned down. | ||
| Alfred | Re: More nonsense | 09-17-2000 |
| The Greek cafe on Superior was the Coney Island. It is alive and booming. | ||
| Kitty | Re: More nonsense | 09-17-2000 |
| Guys, neither of those names rings a bell. As you head North on Superior Ave., it was on the right. So Alfred, if that is where the Coney Island is, then you're probably right. Skipper, does the Chinese Lantern sound Greek to you??!! You are too funny!! Anyway, I hope it's still there. | ||
| A Dwarf | Re: More nonsense | 09-17-2000 |
| C'mon Kitty, snowmobilers and boaters? Every town north of Hinckley has that. If towns like TH and Cloquet are going to make it in the new millenium they have to have something different than every other Thompson, Dickland and Harry-ville. How about a best 'turtleneck' contest for the "uncirc'd". Maybe a worst haircut contest for those that are a bit 'butch'? Let's face it, gay is here to stay. And them homo's usually have some cash! And the Greek Cafe? Try Nick's Burger World. | ||
| A Dwarf | Re: More nonsense | 09-17-2000 |
| BTW, Kitty. The streets in Duluth go north-south and the avenues go east-west, so you must mean Superior Street. No wonder Alfred is confused. | ||
| Webman | Re: More nonsense | 09-17-2000 |
| Nick's was a really happenin' place back in the early 70's (I'm showing my age). I was in 9th grade, a friend and I hitchhiked to Duluth. Went to some of the record/head shops on Superior Street. Bought the brand new Chicago II album and the brand new Deep Purple Machine Head album. Then we went to Nick's. The lady behind the count called me "sir." I was sure I had arrived in the adult world that day. | ||
| Kitty | Re: More nonsense | 09-17-2000 |
| Dwarf, Alfred isn't confused, I am. Anyway, thanks for the info about direction and streets. Speaking of music, I've been purchasing cd's like mad lately and bought Carly Simon's newest one, the Bedroom Tapes. I LOVE the first song, and Big Dumb Guy. Also picked up Steely Dan's latest-same ol' classic sound- it's really great. | ||
| Kitty | Re: More nonsense | 09-17-2000 |
| Dwarf, I'm so glad you weren't serious about that gay-tourism thing! And you're very right about the money-they do have lots of it. Not like those cross-country skiers who go in a resturant and order hot water (because they have their own tea bag!). I cross country ski, but I usually order a beer when I'm done! | ||
| Skipper | Re: More nonsense | 09-18-2000 |
| I believe you are talking about Mr. Nick's, they had good burgers, I don't know if they had greek food but the owner was Nick Patronas, that is Greek. | ||
| Kitty | Re: More nonsense | 09-18-2000 |
| Skipper, I'll have to check it out when I get there. Have a good Monday, and remember, don't let the turkeys get you down. | ||
| Donald | Re: More nonsense | 09-18-2000 |
| The only good place to eat in Duluth that I remember was The Rib. The truckers loved that place. They would serve free glasses of ice with your meal. Donald | ||
| Postman | Re: More nonsense | 09-18-2000 |
| No better place than the old Sweden House in the plaza shopping center, very good smorgasboard! | ||
| Mike Oxebig | Re: More nonsense | 09-18-2000 |
| I always preferred the Lemon Drop over the Lemon Tree! Mike O. | ||
| Alfred | Re: More nonsense | 09-18-2000 |
| Hey! I ate at the Rib Cafe on Superior Street. Very excellent food. Their special was a glass of orange juice, only one quarter full. They had very good peanut butter sandwiches too. | ||
| Duffy | Re: More nonsense | 09-19-2000 |
| I once stopped at Taco John's, but didn't order anything. A young man with a hickey on his neck was behind the counter and as he was scooping up ingredients for tacos all I could think of was dog food. Duffy | ||
| Kitty | Re: More nonsense | 09-19-2000 |
| Alfred, the Rib Cafe sounds good, maybe we'll try it. My daughter might like the PBJ's (she's 10) but I'll take the ribs! | ||
