Welcome
to TwoHarborsForum.com! This is an effort to
offer people the opportunity to connect with the past, present, and future of Two
Harbors and the surrounding
area. The bulletin
board continues to grow, and is acquiring quite a collection of excellent
commentary on things like Lighthouse Point, traffic
concerns, the City Council, community improvement,
various and sundry local issues, housing, class reunions, etc.,
etc. It is certainly worth taking a
look. Since its initial launch in November of
1999, this site has become sort of a window into
our community. I hope you enjoy your visit
This
is not Two Harbors, but pretty close. It is a view from the Allete
Cam in Duluth. It is mounted on top of the Allete headquarters
in downtown Duluth. It rotates for a variety of views. Pretty
nice! You need Java to see it.
Please
browse around through our pages and photos. We have a bulletin
board and a chat room.
The forum/bulletin board and chat room are open to
everyone. You do not need a username or password to post
on the bulletin board, but registering does allow you
access to a couple of extras. Click on the bulletin
board link for instructions. The Photo
Page has a bunch of really nice pictures that have
been collected over the last couple of years. Here is
a "hot off the press" panoramic view of Two
Harbors in 1917 and a newer aerial
shot that Tøre sent over.
For
anyone interested in, or involved in the music programs at Two Harbors
High School - check out the Daryl
D. Johnson Foundation website. Daryl was the high school
choir director from 1955 - 1987. He is enjoying a well-deserved
retirement these days. His children, Patty, Barb, Doug and
Jeff have started this foundation to further music education in the
Two Harbors schools. An excellent, digitally re-mastered CD of
the THHS choir (various years) is available through the website as
well. There will also be a new CD/DVD available of the 2005
Christmas concert available soon.
Click
here to listen to the U.S. Coast Guard foghorn, the tugboat
Edna G., and an unidentified oreboat. This is a
re-recording of a 1968 reel-to-reel tape. Takes a bit to load,
but really neat to listen to. Thanks to Bassman for this
one. What a guy!
Hey, check out the
Lake
Superior Marine Museum sometime too.
